Michelle LeClair - Community Awareness & Prevention Educator for Family Violence Project in Augusta
Come learn ways that the HR and business community can support employees who may be experiencing domestic abuse. In this session, we will define domestic violence (DV) and explore how it is a workplace safety issue. As an employer, you have the opportunity to institute a DV Policy that helps your employees feel seen, valued, and supported. Michelle will also provide education on the Maine State laws around supporting victims of domestic violence, how a person who is experiencing DV might show up in the workplace and what kinds of issues might arise and the role HR can/should play in supporting an employee that is experiencing abuse.
